Safe Haven

Write college-themed letters on navigating the struggles of college life and finding support

Incription of the word "breathe." It acknowledges that college could be overwhelming and as such we need an open space to talk about it, write about it, and support others who may be going through similar experiences

Alone But Not Lonely 

​These are letters to prisons focused on providing emotional and moral support to prisoners with themes of hope and solidarity ​

Spearhead writing and distribution of letters to hospitals to provide support to patients and facilitate recovery

ABOUT US 

Letters to Strangers (L2S) is a community-centered organization aimed at demystifying mental illness and improving access to affordable care for the youth. At Columbia University and the New York chapter (L2SColumbia), we spearhead mental health advocacy and awareness by writing and distributing heartfelt letters to individuals in designated colleges, prisons, and hospitals struggling with mental health.
